The heart of the Kitchen Library is a collection of utensils and cooking equipment available for Market Members to borrow.
More than just borrowing kitchen and cooking items, the Kitchen Library is a great resource for the Barossa community, offering workshops and demonstrations with the aim of providing people with the knowledge and access they need to explore cooking with fresh and seasonal foods.
The Kitchen Library creation has been made possible by the support of a Penfolds Evermore Grant.
Equipment Lending Program
We’re in the process of compiling a range of kitchen utensils, baking items, and tools like blenders, food processors, slow cookers, dehydrators, canning kits and more for Market Members to borrow.
If you’ve got any items you’d like to donate please read on to our ‘Donate’ section.
Via our online lending system, Market Members can view and reserve utensils and equipment for a set period, just like library books. Click HERE to go to our Kitchen Library lending website – note you don’t need to be a Market Member to see what we have available, but you do need to be a Member to borrow items.
Please note images on this site are examples only. We may not yet have that piece in stock.
Donate Items to the Kitchen Library
We are now seeking donations of kitchen utensils and equipment along with crockery and cutlery.
If you’re having a clean out of un-used or unwanted items, or maybe have only one item that never gets used, we’d love to hear from you – check out our current wish-list HERE. If you believe your items might be suitable for us, please take some photos along with a brief description and email to info@barossafarmersmarket.com.
Please note – we won’t accept items without prior approval and subject to final inspection at the Market.
Please do not leave donations outside of the Market when unattended.
Workshops, Classes and Demonstrations
The Market is planning to offer workshops that cover topics like meal prep, cooking, canning, pickling, fermenting, and preserving seasonal produce.
We will have local chefs, and other renowned cooks to lead cooking demonstration sessions featuring seasonal ingredients.
We plan to offer specialised workshops, such as sustainable cooking, zero-waste kitchens, plant based cooking, Mediterranean diets etc.
Recipe Sharing
The Market will create a recipe board and online space where participants can share their recipes, using produce from the Market and the items they’ve borrowed, giving an opportunity to learn from each other.
